I found another word with the character 看 kān: look after, guard.
看家本领 kānjiā běnlǐng: one’s special skill (lit. the ability to guard the house)

I only knew 看守 kānshǒu (watch, guard) before, that’s when I learnt that 看 has two pronunciations/meanings.
