I’m thinking of making threads for my reading updates, with one thread per book :meow_read2:

I finished chapter 2 of 交錯 by 四弄一號!
I’m really loving it so far, looks like a solid police procedural with a good mystery, and the characters are very interesting, with a lot of background for each of them.

Interestingly, the first and second chapter each contained recaps of the important points discovered by the police in relation to the case. I really helped me go back into the book after a long break during the Seollal holidays.

Cover of the book 交錯 with the title written in the middle and appearing like it’s floating on water. The cover illustration is a pattern of blue and red ripples with two silhouettes reflecting on it.

Finished chapter 3 of 交錯!

And I saw a mention of AI, that’s one of my prompts for the bingo challenge. First one was a mention of AI voice phishing in a Korean novel, and in 交錯 it’s used by the police to help with CCTV images of low quality. Both novels are very recent (2025 and 2026).

An open grid notebook. Left page has the title “wrongful conviction “ and the right page “AI”. They are both divided into three sections. The “AI” page has a book title and a quote in two of its sections. The rest is empty.

I finished chapter 4 and 5 of 交錯 by 四弄一號, it’s such a good police procedural!

And I found a prompt in each chapter, which gives me two more bingos!!

First is a mention of the “perfect crime”. Interestingly, it’s 完全犯罪 in both Japanese and Korean (완전범죄), but 完美犯罪 in Chinese.

Second bingo is “fictional detective“ (for when other famous detectives are mentioned in novels). I found 4 mentions of fictional detectives so far… and in each case it’s Sherlock Holmes :meow_huh:
To be fair, the Japanese novel did mention a lot of different detectives, and I just took the first one.
In two cases it was to quote the famous “When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth”.

I was hoping to see more variety but oh well.. :blob_detective:

Long grid notebook opened, similar to picture 2. The left page has the title “perfect murder” and is divided into three sections, each containing a book title and a quote in a different language: Chinese top, Japanese middle and Korean bottom. For each quote the word “perfect crime” is written in a different colour.

Finished 交錯 by 四弄一號! I loved it so much, police procedurals are my favourite genre, and this one felt very realistic.
It’s probably my favourite book of the month?

The book was also part of the Readmoo reading challenge, so I’m one step closer to that first badge!

Screenshot showing three rows of 5 icons numbered from 1 to 15. Icon number 5, 10 and 15 are special badges. Only the first two icons are filled with a stamp.
