Even though I’m tempted to just continue the list of books for the Readmoo challenge, I decided to take a break, and read something else.

I’m starting 流星·蝴蝶·剑 by Gu Long (古龙). My first wuxia novel!! :blob_hype: (Thanks again @jiewawa for the recommendation!)

Gu Long is a Taiwanese author, but strangely none of his books are available on Readmoo? It was on 微信读书, so I’m reading it in Simplified Chinese.

流星·蝴蝶·剑 by Gu Long (古龙).

I’m 60% into the first volume already, I don’t know how I read it this fast, but it’s so so good!! :meow_hearts: :meow_starstruck:

At some point the book just becomes impossible to put down, the pace is very fast and the story so exciting! The characters are all so cool too :meow_wow:

流星·蝴蝶·剑 by Gu Long (古龙).

I finished the first volume, so I’m about halfway through I think.

One good thing about reading on 微信读书 is that you get access to other people’s comments, and I’m very grateful for this person who added definitions for a lot of words and expressions :blobthanks:

Screenshot of an e-reader showing a quote from a book: 一箭之地 with icons like “copy”, “search” or “share” and a comment left by someone that says: 不是很远的距离 with options to like or reply to this comment. Both the quote and the comment appear in a dark window on top of the original text which is blurred in the background.

Oh, this word, 休想 (xiūxiǎng: don’t think that sth is possible/you can…, don’t even dream about doing…), I know it from Xiao’s idle:

荒野上的孤魂,休想伤我分毫。

(I love this voiceline so much :meow_heart3: )

There are some words that, when I see them, I can immediately say where I saw/learnt them for the first time.

And I also like this sentence, especially with the ones that follow, but I stopped writing down all the Gu Long quotes I found impactful, because it was just me writing down the whole novel :blobcatgiggle:

I finished it!! It was such an exciting read!! :meow_hearts:

This was my introduction to wuxia, and it’s a big success. Characters were inspiring and memorable, confrontations were so intense, and I really loved the themes of treason and loyalty. It was so easy to read too!
